Sam Greenberg, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Greenberg focuses on building problem solving techniques to build long term mental and emotion health for children, adolescents, adults, and families suffering from distress and discomfort stemming from anxiety, depression, and mood disorders.  As an undergraduate in college, Dr. Greenberg realized that while had a passion for history, he didn’t want to make it his career.  Between his undergraduate and graduate degrees, he worked in the public school system, supporting students with special needs, behavior challenges, and social development delays.  That experience put him on the path of psychology, where he successfully pursued both a masters and doctorate degree.

In his practice he uses a combination of approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy with patients.  He particularly enjoys working with families, the school system, other providers, and the support network where and when appropriate. Dr. Greenberg understands and recognizes the challenges behavior has on the family unit.  He is well versed in navigating the cognitive behavior therapy approaches that help families with personality dimensions and behaviors have a more rewarding home experience.

Dr. Greenberg has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Functional Family Therapy, Behavioral Parent Training, and Family Systems Therapy. Dr. Greenberg completed his predoctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. While at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Greenberg trained within the Child and Family Therapy Clinic where he worked with children, adolescents, and families experiencing a wide range of psychological and behavior challenges.

Although a Maryland native, Dr. Greenberg received a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Wisconsin. He went on to obtain his Master of Arts degree in Clinical psychology as well as his doctorate degree in Washington DC.  Dr. Greenberg lives in the area with his wife, his two children, and their dog.
